Wroda BUFFALO, NY -- Laurie Joanne Wroda (née Pfoutz), 59, passed away peacefully on October 28th, 2025 at Roswell Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY, holding her husband and son’s hands. Laurie’s life was one filled with love, warmth, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that make life meaningful. She adored her family and her beloved dogs—Hope, Faith, and Sophie. She found joy in travel, collecting antiques, watching cooking shows, and spending cherished time with family and friends on the deck of her home overlooking Chautauqua Lake, NY. Though she may have resided in New York, Laurie never forgot her upbringing in Greenville, OH. Laurie was a graduate of the 1984 Class from Greenville High School and went on to accomplish an Associate's degree in dietetics from Sinclair College in Dayton, OH. Laurie can never be duplicated. She had a heart of gold, an infectious smile, and a beauty that radiated from the inside out. Patient, kind, compassionate, and endlessly understanding, Laurie’s love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Laurie was a successful business woman whose companies, created with her husband, have spanned decades. She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Jimmy Wroda, whom she married on July 21, 1984; her son, Matthew Wroda; her sisters, Theresa Molina and Jennifer Pfoutz; and her brother, Michael Pfoutz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell Emerald Pfoutz and Joyce Theresa Pfoutz. A private burial will take place at a later date. Laurie’s passing has left an immeasurable void in her friends and family’s life; she will be deeply missed. Though she is no longer with us in this physical world, her memory lives on. Laurie’s courageous fight against cancer will forever be remembered as a testament to her strength, her heart, her perseverance, and grace. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to golden bond rescue of Portland, Oregon, an organization dear to Laurie’s heart that rescues golden retrievers from around the globe. www.goldenbondrescue.com .
